TROPICAL FRUIT STUDIES
The strawberry studies were part of a tropical fruit study project, where students were asked to look carefully at the silhouettes, details, structures, patterns, shadows, contrasts and colors of a fruit in order to look for inspiration for a future tile design. Trying different media allows for expression of different aspects of the same object. The colored strawberry is a mixed media paining done by staring at the same piece of fruit for 12 hours until its colors and shape started to decay. This hard work paid of when this art-piece was sold at an auction for charity.
