CHAPEL OF THE LITTLE FLOWER
fall 2014, professor george trelles, site-coral gables, FLORIDA

ELEVATIONS AND PLAN, pencil on velum, 24x36
The Chapel of the Little Flower has been designed for the neighbouring church of the little flower inspired by the iconic Christian church, the Pantheon of Rome. This chapel although smaller in size, comprises of a screened portico, and a rotonda, with floral coffering in the dome and an Oculus. Multiple niches allow for placement of statues. Since it's a central plan, it allows for introspection in a rounded seating arrangement. The exterior niches have Pietro Dura floral designs inspired by Indian Rajasthani Architecture. A formal and an informal garden lead to a rectory later designed for the same chapel.
