The Solares preschool and community garden were designed in accordance with the physical requirements of preschoolers and their caretakers, which required an intense pre-programming study leading to an efficient program organisation. The schoolhouse draws multiple elements from some famous buildings of Key West including the Audubon and Hemingway Houses. The community garden was a later addition to the project where a stepped-terrace like kitchen-garden allows community members to indulge in gardening and organic farming; while the courtyard type loggia gives them opportunities to socialise and even sell their produce in possible farmer’s market events . It also features beautiful fountains, and even a second story terrace.
